Dedication

This is only a month late... :} Josiah was dedicated at our church (Praire Ridge) on Sunday, October 24. Pastor Mike does a great job of making the service personal -- he shares about each child's name and also some thoughts/verses for each individual one. Makes it very personal as he's standing there holding your babe. "Josiah" means "God will save". When Josiah was in the hospital at 3-weeks old, my cousin Laurel sent a note and said that she believes that people live up to their names... what an encouragement to us at the time and going forward! When Pastor Mike held Josiah at the dediation service, he talked about King Josiah, and what a good man he was. Our prayer is that Josiah will also be a strong man of God! Something that I appreciate very much - our church doesn't get hung up on whether someone wants to have their child dedicated or baptized - it's about the fact that they're standing in for their child, promising to do everything they can to help them know Christ and his love.

This verse hangs above Josiah's crib...
Being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus. -Philippians 1:6
