We recently had our round with some illness around here - no fun! It seems to me like when you've got a sick little, nothing seems to go right... probably because their sleep is not often great, which directly affects your own sleep... and then you wonder if it will ever be back to "normal"... and it does get there, thank goodness! Roman had conjunctivitis, which is super-contagious, and luckily josiah never caught it! They've been starting to "play together" a little more, or at least want to play with the same toys, sometimes at the exact same time :\ ... so thank goodness for handy cleaning tools, such as clorox wipes and hand sanitizer. (roman thought it was very cool that he got to use the "special soap" that didn't even require water!) And i'm so thankful for a mom who is able to adjust her schedule so that she can help out in desperate times!
roman was in the midst of his conjunctivitis, i was at the start of an ear infection/cold, and jake was heading to omaha for an important CEU training for two days... i got a phone call from mom, saying she was half-way to ankeny with her clorox, anti-bac and snacks to share! "how to make a grown woman cry". :-) i knew that even though we weren't in a "fun stage" at the moment, it would somehow end up being some form of that, which it did! so thanks, mom! :)

| roman, conjunctified... looking lots better these days! |

after naptime, josiah likes to go into roman's room to play. so sweet... do you think they'll always love to sit on roman's bed and read together??!?! :) |
fall is here, and so are the pumpkins! the boys got to visit a pumpkin patch this weekend with gma susan and gpa mark, and raefe, while jake and i were at the iowa football game. weather was beautiful - perfect day to be outside! as soon as we got home on sunday, roman had to "find a home" for the pumpkins they scored. it didn't surprise me that the pumpkins were lined up in a straight row in their new home... and then within a half hours, they pumpkin home had moved to the front steps, but still in a straight line... (this is roman to a T - he likes things to be in order, in their place, maybe it's a first-child thing?) :}
and finally, i thought it was worth documenting josiah's first self-fed yogurt -- he did pretty good, wouldn't you say? he even said "cheese" for the camera! i think he consumed more than half of the yogurt, and the rest was soaked up by his barely-hanging-on-hand-me-down-pjs, which i think are so cute. :)
