Weekend #1 of travel...

We have found wonderful things to do three weekends in a row... all far away from where we live!  This past weekend, we drove to Duluth, Minnesota for the wedding of Adrian, Jake's cousin. Next weekend, the (little) boys and I are driving to Indiana to spend time with the Yutzy fam... and the following weekend, we are all driving out to Aspen, Colorado for a week with Jake's fam!  Our trips get progressively further away... 6 hours last weekend, 7 hours this coming weekend, and then a mighty 14 hours the next weekend!  (Prayers are welcomed!!)

We had a great time this weekend with the Stotts family. Adrian & Amanda got married at Barker's Island (technically in Superior, Wisconsin), just outside of Duluth. We enjoyed a BBQ at Aunt Paula & Uncle Jeff's place on Friday night, and then spent most of the rest of our time at the Barker's Island Inn with the family. Rick took care of the wedding ceremony - did a great job - so we got to spend lots of time with him and Brienne, too!  :-)

Highlights from the weekend (some good, some not-so-good)...
:-(  Realizing that we forgot our (Jake and my) wedding clothes hanging in our closet at home, which resulted in a quick shopping-spree at the local Younkers sales racks!  (I do like the sweater and shoes that I scored!)
:-) Beautiful weather. Was a high of 77 everyday we were there - so we were outside in hoodies and jeans early in the morning/evening.  Excited for fall to get here!!
:-( Roman started in with pink eye symptoms on Saturday afternoon, so we ended up stopping at an urgent care in Eagan, Minnesota on the way home Sunday... had a great doctor who gave us samples of eye drops that we could get him started on right away! He's still not 100% but is on the mend.
:-) Heard back on a house offer that we made... was accepted!  So it looks like the Stotts family will be moving to Ames in the next few months!  Praying that our current house moves quickly, too!
:-( Josiah decided to nap for 30 minutes each day (usually naps about 3 HOURS each day)... apparently he thinks traveling/vacation-mode is different than at home.  hmmmm.... i'll keep you posted on this after next weekend!

unsuccessful at getting a family pic taken... here we are attempting to use a self-timer which didn't work well for us -- and then somehow the pics that Brienne took of us at the reception got dumped between my camera and the computer.  :(
