Fun times with our Denver fam!

I'm way behind here - I've missed posting pics from when Theresa visited in June, and now I've got pics from when Rick and Brienne came over the Fourth of July!  So this post is a tribute to our Denver family - thanks SO much for making the long drive out to visit us!!  We had so much fun with you all!!

When Theresa was here in June, we visited Reiman Gardens, which is where we took most of our pics -- a fun place to visit on a nice day!  :)

We were trying to get Josiah's attention to take this pic,
and he was busy "cranking" on this grasshopper's antenna...
and then I noticed the "please do not touch" sign!
me: AGH!  STOP TOUCHING THE ANTENNA!!!
LOOK WITH YOUR EYES, NOT YOUR HANDS!!
(SO thankful we were not the family to break the antenna
off of the giant grasshopper.  Whew.)
Benjamin had a cush ride with Grandma Rosie pushing him around!
Kicking back...
Pretty smile from Theresa!  :)
Grabbing some shade and a nice photo opp!
The boys running off some energy on "the hill"...
near the end of the garden tour!
The boys stood VERY still for this picture, so as not to fall off.
(They aren't really THAT high up... but they thought otherwise.)

And we had so much fun with Theresa - hung out a lot at home, and then got to spend a morning at Leah's gym, running on the mats, jumping on trampolines and into foam pits - SO fun!!  Looking forward to November when we get to see Theresa and David again!!

"Relaxing" is something these two are into -
they sit side-by-side in our recliner and do whatever...
most days, it goes pretty well.
Rick and Brienne came to visit over the Fourth - so they got to experience fireworks in Ames (which happened to be our first fireworks here, too!)  Here's some of the fun that we had with them...

Benjamin's first sweet corn on the cob!  He did pretty well with it!
This guy is a master with sweet corn...
After dinner on the Fourth, the boys started playing a game with Uncle Rick - he could only hear them, not see them, unless he had his special sunglasses on... so they tried to keep the glasses away from Rick, otherwise he would "get them".  (insert HIGH-pitched scream).  So at some point, Uncle Rick converted into a Lion/T-Rex (let his hair down and pulled his arms into his shirt) - pretty fun for us all!

Grandma Rosie gave the boys some special rings
(bracelets) that helped protect them, along with
being on the "safe bench" with her.
a quick pic just before saying good-bye.
(Benjamin had already hit the sack for naptime.)
So much fun, we had... always look forward to the next time we get to be together!!  Hoping that we can be the ones next time to make the long drive!
